Haiku Contest Details
Quick and simple, huh? For those of you who don't know, a haiku is a form of poetry comprised of unique juxtaposition of content, in which it's cut into three lines. The first and last line, their syllables must equal five. The middle line will consist of seven syllables! While haikus are frequently written about nature, we want you to write about whatever you'd like! Within the site rules, of course.
Here's an example, written by yours truly, about a terribly unfortunate event:
where is the pizza
i am still very hungry
but i ate it all
As you can see, it creates three lines and follows the 5, 7, 5 rule! Simple enough, right? Of course, we encourage you to be creative and beautifully poetic as you'd like! And the subject doesn't have to be pizza. Think about your day, or the things you see, or the things that make you upset or happy. Perhaps write about your pets or dreams. It's up to you! To participate, create your own thread in the Haiku Contest forum, where you can keep track of your haikus. You may write five a day. Put today's in one post, tomorrow's in the next post, etc. In this event, double posting is acceptable and necessary. Also, it would be appreciated to space out your haikus for staff to know they're all separate and not one big string of thoughts. Only properly made haikus will count for drachmas! At the end of the event, staff will go through each topic and count up each properly written haiku, and add drachmas to your account. The payout is 25 drachmas per haiku--a possibility of 125 drachmas for ever day of the event! There is no definitive end date for this event, so participate while you can!
